In 1886, Dr. Carroll Dandola Evans, one of Columbus’ early physicians, married Lorena Rose North, niece of Major Frank and Luther North. The construction of their 28-room home took from 1908 to 1911. The house blends Renaissance, Greek, and Spanish Colonial styles and currently houses professional offices. The North brothers, ranching partners of Buffalo Bill, were said to have entertained Cody at the Evans home. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.
