Operated by the Platte County Historical Society, the museum is house in three buildings, one of which is an original Ward school built in 1912. Exhibits include Native American artifacts, an authentic turn-of-the-century schoolroom and barbershop, rooms of Victorian clothing, furnishings, and heirlooms, military memorabilia complimenting the Andrew Jackson Higgins Memorial, the 1857 Gottschalk log cabin, a 1913 Indian motorcycle, a 1914 Chevrolet Baby Grand Touring car, and displays created by each community in Platte County. NEW HOURS: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 1:30 pm & Saturday and Sunday, 1 pm – 4 pm or by appointment. Closed on holidays. Admission is charged.
